Predator is a side-scrolling platformer which uses the imagery and characters from the classic Arnie movie of the same name. The game is not a faithfully conversion of the movie however - your unit has already been killed off when the game starts and you will battle scorpions, enemy soldiers and dodge obstacles etc, before facing the Predator itself a number of times.

The game is a fairly standard run-jump-shoot platformer, except that you start with no weapons at all and must collect them as the game goes on.

Description from the packaging:

If it bleeds, we can kill it.
As Major Dutch Schaefer, you face the Predator - the alien hunter who kills for sport. It's wasted your entire squad, and you're next.

It skins men alive and collects human skulls. It kills by ripping out your spine. Its waiting. And watching.
You're a killing machine with automatic weapons, guns, grenades, and flame-throwers to cut your way through 30 screens of non stop terror.

You cross the river on a rotting log. A blast from the Predator takes off most of your right shoulder. You can quit, or you can pull your self together and fight on.
In Predator Vision, the hunter lines up his sights and unleashes a blast of alien energy that can cut a man in half. Good thing you love a challenge.

It's a shooting gallery, as enemy soldiers sneak through the jungle and take potshots from the barracks. You're one target that knows how to fight back.
